Last minute move

Was hovering around 16th in OLBG Pro tipsters league for Dec. until 9/2 winner Kames Park yesterday pushed me up to 9th. Will take a bit of effort to reach top 6 and not much time left.

Festive slowdown

Have postponed joining Betfair until January.  Too much shopping and seasonal activity to allow proper focus on other things, dont want racing to completely take over ( as it can do ). Have moved to 16th on OLBG Pro tipsters league and in profit, might not make top 6 this month.

Need to focus.

Almost half way through December and am not achieving well enough. In 18th place out of 57 on pro tipsters league (Still LSP profit) and 37th out of 1104 in the naps table.
Have decided that the reason for this is that I did not set a new target and lost focus. This has got to be the way forward and will now think seriously of joining Betfair to earn some real money and will now set targets for this new strategy.

Back on track

Had 2 bets tonight at Wolverhampton.
1 lost and 1 won 14/1, I took 12/1 as I thought it would start less.
Should be back in top 6. This was also 1st Nap for the month so should be near top of this league as well on OLBG Naps league.

Here we go again

Went for Little Pete in 8.50 Kempton, did it ew at 33/1, it came 3rd at SP of 20/1.
Gets the month of to a good start on OLBG Pro tipsters league, waiting until results are verified to see league position.  It helps to get into the top 6 early and thus put pressure on the tipsters behind.

Almost there

Little bit unlucky today - bet Metropolitan Chief in last race at Kempton at 25/1 ( sp 12/1). This was slowly away and may have been unlucky to finish 3rd.
This might be enough to get into top 6 in OLBG pro league this month, if not there's always tomorrow - last day of Nov.

Steady progress

Had only one bet today on OLBG.
Welcome Approach   Won  16/1 Wolverhampton.
Was in a losing run of 8.  Might have now turned the corner , 3 days to end of Nov. Need the same again to get into top 6 on Pro tipsters league and earn some cash.

Getting somewhere maybe.

Followed 14/1 (SP 8/1) winner yesterday with 6/1(SP 4/1) winner today on OLBG pro tipsters league.  Would be doing much better but 20/1 winning bet not accepted as it was 30 secs late - bets not allowed from 10 mins pre race start time.  However will carry on hoping for lucky run to continue, am approaching top 6 at present.

Uphill at present

Have moved up to 16th from 73 Pro tipsters in the OLBG league, but this month there's several tipsters performing well. Will be difficult to get into the top 6 for Oct, but being in profit level stakes for 6 consecutive months is at least some sort of achievement.

Progress

Getting back into the game.  Nice 10/1 (SP 9/1)winner Finnegan Mccool today at Lingfield.  Should move up the league of pro tipsters as a result but more needed to reach top 6.

Another month

Not such a good month Sept. Poor strike rate.
First 2 bets Oct - 1 lost & 1 Won 9/2
Should be near top of Pro punters league.
Better start, just need to continue in same vein.

Slow progress

As at today am now in 23rd place with level stake profit £2.5.  Well behind top 6 and the prize money but might just consolidate and wait for next month.  Strike rate is well below what I expect so need to improve on this.

Shaky start

Getting into the race with a winner after 3 attempts, probably should have done win instead of e.w.  (W 7/1).
 Moved up to 17th from 41st yesterday, now showing level stake profit.
More to do to reach top 6.

Made it

Now achieved what I set out to do - have been in profit for 4 months and now will proceed next month in a higher league.  Was down -£1 to level stakes until 9/2 winner obliged yesterday, even better SP was only 3/1.
Leaving it late to get there!

Another 11 days to end of August. Need to make at least 1 more bet (or more if it does not win)
Need to make level stake profit >0, but currently only +1 so loser would wipe this out.
Must think carefully about next selection.

Getting there

Have made paper profit in May, June and July.
Now just need August to be the same and will then join the Horse Racing Pros Tipsters list.

Quick appraisal

7 selections so far - 6 not achieved value price, from these only 1 won.
1 selection achieved better than value odds won 7/1.
Seems to vindicate decision to only bet selections achieving value odds.
Also highlights how difficult it is to predict starting prices even at only 3 or 4 hours before the race. Most of the selections were close to the value price using the forecast SP in the Daily Mirror.
For some as yet unexplained reason there seems to be more opportunity to find value in All weather racing and that is where many of the selections will be found.
